His Excellency Salem Yousef Al Qaseer, Chairman of the Labour Standards Development Authority in Sharjah, attended in Saja’a Labour Park yesterday, Monday, July 11, 2022, the main event of Eid Al Adha Labour Festival. in Sharjah, which will continue until July 15, 2022.
The colorful event, held on the third day of Eid, was attended by senior officials and crowds of workers. It included cultural programs, free medical examinations, awareness lectures, art, musical numbers, Eid bazaar, street food, and an honoring ceremony for sponsors and strategic partners from the public and private sectors.
In his opening remarks, His Excellency Al Qaseer welcomed the audience to the Eid Al-Adha Labour Festival, held for the first time, in the labour park, which is also the first of its kind. He said, "We are pleased that such a large crowd of workers attends the festival. This indicated that we have achieved the LSDA’s strategies and objectives laid down by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah> The LSDA’s strategy aimed at creating an attractive work environment in the Emirate of Sharjah and maintaining the rights and duties of workers and employers.”
He pointed out that LSDA organized the festival, in cooperation with the government and private sectors and the Indian Association in Sharjah, to strengthen human, social, and cultural ties among workers of different nationalities. The festival's purpose is for workers to get together to exchange Eid greetings and share the joy. He added, " Under the directives and followup of His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, and Chairman of the Executive Council, LSDA will continue holding such events to strengthen relationships in the Sharjah work environment."
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to all the strategic partners from the government and private sectors and the Indian Association in Sharjah for their contribution to the success of the festival. He also thanked the organizing committees and the LSDA team. The festival included free medical examinations for workers, including eyes and dental, conducted by clinics interested in CSR to maintain the working community's health and combat infectious diseases and smoking. It also included awareness lectures, motivational sessions, legal advice to enhance the morale and social spirit of workers, as well as musical and entertainment programs from different cultures.
